Legolas gazed ahead, shading his eyes from the level shafts of the new-risen sun. 'I see a white stream that comes down from the snows,' he said. 'Where it issues from the shadow of the vale a green hill rises upon the east. A d**e and mighty wall and thorny fence encircle it. Within there rise the roofs of houses; and in the misdt, set upon a green terrace, there stands aloft a great hall of Men. And it seems to my eyes that it is thatched with gold. The light of it shines far over the land. Golden , too, are the posts of its doors.'
'Edoras those courts are called,' said Gandalf, 'and Meduseld is that golden hall. There dwells Theoden son of Thengel, King of the Mark of Rohan.' -The Two Towers, The King of the Golden Hall

"Dear Artemis, you have come to the right person. As keeper of the Horses of Rohan, I know of many that are availiable. Follow me to the King's Stables, and we will find you a great one."

"I have here a wonderful horse." Edana gestures to a tall black horse with a single white star on his forhead. "He is the first foal by Brego, the great steed of Aragorn. There is no other stallion that can match him for loyalty and bravery. What do you think?"

*Turns nose slightly up in a bit of selfish pride* "Every horse bread here in Edoras is swift. I see to it myself, dear Artemis. He is a fine horse. You'll be hard to find a better one." She smiled as she tucked her personal pride away.

I meant not to wound your pride . I'm certainly a proud person myself. Had a bad experience once buying a horse though...the bloody dealer promised me he was the swiftest in the land, and quite a few other people testified to that...but it was only fast going in one direction. Not exactly the most useful type of horse to have...

Edana smiled. "No, not the sort of type to do business with, I am sure. However, I am not the chief horsemaster of Edoras for nothing. I will not guarantee my work. My horses speak it for themselves. They simply are the swiftest." She motioned the horse towards Artemis. "Here, take a trial ride."
